![]() Science Consoles: Shield Absorptive Frequency Generator, Zero Point Energy Conduit, Assimilated Module With 5 tactical consoles, the kinetic cutting beam just can’t keep up with the consistent energy type beam arrays, and that’s before FAW starts to happen.ĭeflector/Engine/Shields: 2-piece Assimilated with Fleet Elite shield Įngineering Consoles: Fleet Elite neutronium armor +turn, Plasmonic Leech I do like it for its extra variety, and the torpedo’s ability to knock down aceton assimilators and extra spam killing, but for pure damage output it does lag behind, especially now that the Omega plasma torpedo’s cooldown has been fixed so that it actually does need to cool down. What about a front torpedo? Or a rear kinetic cutting beam? My own Scimitar is set up with the Omega equipment set with plasma torpedo and kinetic cutting beam, but I fully admit that this is not helping with my dps in typical PvE environments. If you’re going to be PvPing then some would be useful because you’d be missing a lot otherwise. And as my testing and IDIC have confirmed, hits the hardest anyway. As this build is going to be mostly FAW, becomes somewhat worthless. Why ? It was recently confirmed by the devs that accuracy overflow does not get rolled into critical hit and damage when using FAW. For the other 7 plasma arrays, you have a choice of either Romulan plasma for the nice disruptor proc or conventional plasma for more modifiers, but the important part is to get as much as you possibly can. ![]() similar conventional beam arrays (I would like to give a more accurate number for the dps boost for that but the testing has proven to be very time consuming and imprecise). This nifty weapon does not count toward your power drain from using energy weapons, and will result in an approximate 5% boost to your overall dps vs. Why? When broadsiding hard, no weapon is better than the Romulan Experimental plasma beam array. This can also be adapted for engineer to great effect and to science officer for not nearly so great effect.ġx Romulan Experimental plasma beam array Tactical captain in a Scimitar dreadnought warbird. This is an expensive c-store ship, and there is one must-have option that makes it even more expensive, but well worth it if you have the money or the dilithium. The DBB built FAW option might work, but I would still recommend only using arrays. Unlike the Avenger, the Scimitar is a little slow so a cannons build will probably not work all that well for it. The build of choice for dps is of course the same Aux2Bat and technician build I’ve previously shown for the Avenger, with the same caveats about expense and where to get the technicians. The combination of lots of weapons, lots of tactical consoles, a commander tactical boff slot, and hangar mean that its damage potential is unmatched. The Scimitar is without a doubt the most powerful PvE ship in the game, and no slouch in the PvP department either, being able to take on the role of high-dps self-tanking cruiser moderately well. I really should have done this back when I got my own Scimitar, but this gives me a chance to show off some of the new keybinding tricks that I’ve learned recently. ![]() ![]() Because we had two different people asking about Scimitars yesterday, I thought it would be a good time to (finally) make a post for a Scimitar dreadnought warbird.
